How to Use Cash App

Cash App is a versatile mobile payment service that allows users to send and receive money, invest in stocks, and buy/sell Bitcoin. This guide will help beginners and intermediate users understand how to set up and use Cash App effectively for everyday transactions, investments, and more.

How to use Cash App, step by step

1. Install the App

   Download Cash App from the official App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android. Avoid third-party sources to ensure security. Open the app after installation to begin setup.

2. Create an Account

   Open the app and enter your phone number or email. You will receive a confirmation code to verify your contact information. Follow the prompts to set a unique $Cashtag, which is your unique identifier for transactions.

3. Link a Bank Account

   Navigate to the Banking tab and select 'Link Bank Account'. Enter your bank credentials or debit card information.

4. Verify Your Identity

   Go to the profile icon and select 'Personal'. Enter your full name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your SSN. Verification is required to increase your sending limit and access additional features like Bitcoin and stock trading.

5. Send Money

   Tap the '$' icon, enter the amount, and select 'Pay'. Enter the recipient's $Cashtag, phone number, or email. Add a note if needed, then confirm the transaction.

6. Request Money

   Tap the '$' icon, enter the amount, and select 'Request'. Choose the recipient from your contacts or enter their details. They will receive a notification to fulfill your request.

7. Deposit Funds

   Navigate to the Banking tab and select 'Add Cash'. Enter the amount and confirm the transaction. The funds will be transferred from your linked bank account to your Cash App balance.

8. Withdraw Funds

   Go to the Banking tab, select 'Cash Out', and choose the amount. Confirm the transfer to send money from your Cash App balance to your linked bank account. Note that standard deposits are free but take 1-3 days, while instant deposits incur a fee.

9. Buy and Sell Bitcoin

   Navigate to the Bitcoin tab and select 'Buy' or 'Sell'. Enter the amount and confirm the transaction. Keep in mind that Bitcoin transactions are subject to market fluctuations and fees.

10. Invest in Stocks

    Go to the Stocks tab and search for the stock you want to invest in. Enter the amount you wish to invest and confirm the purchase. Note that fractional shares are supported, and investments are subject to market risks.

11. Use the Cash Card

    Apply for a Cash Card through the app by selecting the Cash Card tab and following the prompts. Once received, activate it and use it for purchases anywhere Visa is accepted. You can also set up direct deposit to your Cash Card.

    Go to the profile icon and select 'Privacy & Security'. Enable features like PIN, Face ID, or Touch ID for added security. You can also set up a security lock for payments and disable your Cash Card if needed.
